| Hanson to Present Museum With Donation at Grand Opening Gala |
| March 22, 2007 Hanson Pipe & Precast today announced a partnership with the Houston Museum of Natural Science in celebration of the opening of the company’s new, state-of-the-art, fully automated facility in Houston. A grand opening, invitation-only gala, showcasing Hanson’s partnership with the Museum and unveiling the new facility will be held on March 22. “We are proud to partner with such a prestigious leader of the Houston community,” said Clifford Hahne, Hanson’s South Central region president. “Through this partnership we hope to aid the Museum in fulfilling their mission of advancing the knowledge and delight of science education.” The partnership includes a variety of activities and sponsorships including a family day event on April 14 in conjunction with Frog Fest 2007. Children will be able to adorn a concrete cylinder with decorative tiles, donated by Hanson, which will serve as a tree panter and will be on display at the museum. As Hanson supplies pipes to transport storm and drinking water, a representative will present an information session on water transportation from ancient Rome to modern day Houston during the decorating session. This session also corresponds with the Museum’s Imperial Rome exhibition. Hanson is also sponsoring the IMAX film, “Hurricane on the Bayou,” a documentary about the vital swamps of Louisiana - before, during and after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Hanson is dedicated to rebuilding efforts in areas affected by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita; the company produces precast wall panels called AeroDwell™, which can be used to build hurricane-resistant homes quickly. Hanson is also a sponsor of a new museum initiative - a book club for the 2007-2008 school year in which greater Houston area schools will participate. Hanson will donate a concrete planter to decorate and put on the school grounds as a permanent piece of landscaping to the school that wins the Museum’s reading contest. Houston is part of Hanson’s South Central operating region based in Grand Prairie, Texas. The South Central region services Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. The region’s 27 facilities produce products used for community and roadway development such as reinforced concrete pipe, drainage structures, modular bridges and pressure pipe.
