President of Hanson Pressure Pipe and Hanson Pipe & Precast South Central Region Shares Milestone with Company

November 20, 2008

Clifford Hahne, president of Hanson Pressure Pipe and South Central region president of Hanson Pipe & Precast, both divisions of Hanson Building Products North America, recently celebrated 25 years with the company.

Awarded and recognized for his achievements by the U.S. Department of Labor, Associated General Contractors and Texas Aggregates and Concrete Association, Hahne has played a significant role in the development of the concrete industry.

Richard Manning, president of Hanson Building Products North America said, “Clifford’s contributions to this company are vast from his successful integration of teams through our countless North American acquisitions to growing regional precast product market share regionally.  I am proud that he is a part of my Hanson leadership team.”

“It is an honor to have been a part of the growth and change in the concrete industry over the past 25 years,” said Hahne.  “You are only as good as your team, so I’m glad to share this milestone with Richard and my group, who work very hard to achieve excellence and quality in all aspects of our businesses.”

Beginning as a plant manager for Australia-based Pioneer International in 1983, Hahne quickly advanced to president by 1990, and by 1994, had moved to Australia to serve as general manager over Western Australia and Queensland.

Hahne returned to the states in 1997 as president and general manager of Pioneer Concrete of Texas, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Pioneer.  He was responsible for operations in the southern United States and was involved on a number of joint ventures.  Pioneer was acquired by Hanson in 2000.

Hahne has served as president since 2003 for Hanson Pipe & Precast’s South Central region, the company’s largest, headquartered in Grand Prairie, Texas.  He oversees approximately 1,000 people and operations at 26 facilities in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas.  The facilities’ products are used for community and roadway development such as reinforced concrete pipe, drainage structures and modular bridges.

When Manning created Hanson Pressure Pipe in 2007, he appointed Hahne as the company’s president, where Hahne oversees an additional 1,000 employees and operations at nine pressure pipe facilities located in Florida, Illinois, Mississippi, Tennessee, Texas, and Montreal and Toronto, Canada.

Hahne graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and currently serves on the school’s College of Engineering advisory board.  Hahne serves as Chairman of the Board of the American Concrete Pressure Pipe Association and is a former board member of the Texas Concrete and Aggregate Association and National Ready Mix Association.  Hahne resides in Colleyville, Texas, with his wife Karyn and three children.
